While listening to NPR, Jason was inspired by a story “Love is: a crowdsourced Valentines day poem.” Poems about love were created by students and then compiled into a large crowdsourced poem by Kawame Alexander. The result was a profound and touching work of art that provides the reader/listener with a thought provoking definition of love well beyond that of a dictionary.
What if a similar exciting and creative activity were applied to concepts in science? The Science Poetry Project seeks to produce crowdsourced poems that will provide a unique window into how the public and researchers feel about popular concepts and topics in science.
